Our mission is to provide extraordinary primary care. We are the health care home for patients from all walks of life and diverse cultural and family backgrounds. We aim to create a learning and healing environment with our patients, students and colleagues, and to model innovative, conscientious, high-quality care.

Our doctors and nurse practitioners provide a wide range of primary care services, including preventive medicine, management of ongoing chronic illnesses and treatment of acute or severe problems. We also offer prenatal care.

Flu shots: We offer flu shots for adults and children. Call us at (415) 353-9339 for an appointment.

When specialized care is needed, we refer the patient to the appropriate UCSF specialist and department. We communicate and collaborate with specialists and hospital doctors to ensure that our patients receive complete care.

Pregnant Women and Children

Lakeshore doctors have a special focus on caring for children and pregnant women. We provide prenatal care and offer post-delivery care for mothers and their infants in the hospital.

Our family medicine doctors who care for pregnant women seek to establish a partnership with patients. We provide women with the information they need to make informed choices, creating a birth plan that emphasizes the special needs and desires of the individual.

Our pregnant patients deliver at UCSF Medical Center. If doctors detect a high-risk pregnancy, we have immediate access to UCSF's team of perinatologists and neonatologists. Our patients also have access to the latest and most sophisticated medical technologies when they need them.
